In an electric home atmosphere with "we want playoffs" chants filling Canadian Tire Centre, Brady Tkachuk scored twice to fuel a Senators 6-3 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Hurricanes. Ottawa found themselves level after a Svechnikov tap-in with 19 seconds left in the first, but Tkachuk retook the lead with a deflection midway through the second and sealed it with a rebound finish in the third. The win lifted Ottawa into the East's second wild card position with five games remaining.
