Staal one-timed a Nikolaj Ehlers feed at 13:23 of the first to reach 20 goals for the first time since 2015-16, making him the seventh Hurricane to hit the mark this season, as Carolina pulled four points clear of Buffalo for the East's top seed. The 38-year-old captain also added an assist in a 4-1 road win where Frederik Andersen made 26 saves.
