With Carter Hart stopping Devon Toews on a 2-on-1 the other way in overtime, Eichel gathered the loose puck, skated down the left boards, and beat Mackenzie Blackwood from the circle 1:19 into the extra frame. The goal was his sixth overtime winner as a Golden Knight — tying Pacioretty for third in franchise history — and clinched Vegas's playoff berth while vaulting them one point ahead of Edmonton for first in the Pacific.
