The Mammoth and Blues traded goals throughout the first two periods, with Utah pulling level at 3-3 just over a minute before the second intermission. It looked like overtime was inevitable until Logan Mailloux forced a turnover and backhanded a 4-3 go-ahead goal with three minutes to play. Thomas then sealed it with an empty-netter with 38 seconds remaining to complete his hat trick and send St. Louis off on a four-game winning streak.
