Boston answered Buffalo's dramatic Game 1 comeback by building a lead and keeping it this time. Viktor Arvidsson scored twice — once to open the scoring and once to make it 4-0 sixteen seconds into the third — while Morgan Geekie and Pavel Zacha also tallied. Jeremy Swayman held firm with 34 saves as the Sabres cut it to 4-2 late but ran out of time, sending the series back to Boston level at 1-1.
