For the second straight game between the second and third seed, overtime was required in a closely contested Atlantic Division clash. Brandon Hagel opened the scoring and added a Gordie Howe hat trick, while Nikita Kucherov finally ended a 17-game postseason goal drought with a third-period wraparound to force OT. J.J. Moser then sealed it 12:48 into overtime, giving Tampa its first playoff win and evening the series at 1-1.
