Playing in his playoff debut as a substitute for the injured Adam Henrique, the Edmonton forward made an immediate impact when he took a feed from Jack Roslovic behind the net and snapped a shot off Lukáš Dostál's glove at 13:51 of the third period to level the game at 4-4. The tally was short-lived — Cutter Gauthier restored the lead just minutes later — but Samanski's first career playoff goal was a bright spot in a tough Oilers loss.
