Carolina closed out Ottawa in four games, becoming the first team in this year's playoffs to advance to the second round. A scoreless first gave way to a lead-swap in the second — Taylor Hall broke the deadlock before Drake Batherson levelled on the power play — but Logan Stankoven, who has now scored in all four games of the series, potted the go-ahead goal on the power play midway through the third. Sebastian Aho added an empty-netter, Cozens got one back, but another empty-netter sealed it. Carolina wins 4-2 and sweeps the series 4-0.
