Buffalo put the game away before Boston could blink, erupting for four goals in the first 15 minutes at TD Garden to take a 3-1 series lead. Peyton Krebs, Josh Doan, Zach Benson and Bowen Byram all struck in the opening frame — the most first-period playoff goals the Bruins have surrendered since 1991. Beck Malenstyn and Alex Tuch added third-period goals to make it 6-1 and chase Jeremy Swayman. Alex Lyon was composed throughout, and the Sabres are now one win away from their first playoff series victory in nearly two decades.
