After being a healthy scratch for most of Game 4, Dorofeyev answered his coach's message with the biggest performance of his career. He opened the scoring on a power play, doubled his total in the second off a feed from Shea Theodore, and then — with the Mammoth leading 4-3 and the clock ticking under a minute — pounced on a rebound in front with the net empty to tie it at 4-4 with 52.7 seconds left. The hat trick was the sixth in Golden Knights playoff history and the first of Dorofeyev's career; he had just two playoff goals in 13 games before Wednesday. Vegas went on to win 5-4 in double OT.
