In a scoreless, winner-take-all elimination game, Vladar was immovable — turning aside all 42 Pittsburgh shots, including a highlight-reel stop on Sidney Crosby in the third period where he headed the puck soccer-style over the net. The 42 saves are the most by a Flyers goalie in a series-clinching win, topping Phil Myre's 41 in 1980. Vladar posted a .937 sv% across six games against Pittsburgh, with four regular-season shutouts on his entire pre-Flyers resume.
