Ducks Oust Two-Time Cup Finalists, Win First Playoff Series Since 2017 · Apr. 30, 2026

Anaheim erased a nine-year drought in style, eliminating Edmonton 5-2 in Game 6 at Honda Center to advance past the first round for the first time since their 2017 run to the Western Conference Final. The Ducks never led in the series until Game 3, but their comeback formula held again — Cutter Gauthier's deflected power-play goal made it 3-1 in the first, and Troy Terry buried a 2-on-1 feed from Leo Carlsson late in the second to put it out of reach. Lukas Dostal made 25 saves to atone for his early exit in Game 5, and the Ducks' trio of Carlsson, Terry, and Kreider each finished the series finale with a goal and two assists, sending the two-time finalists home for the summer.
