Hughes Leads Wild Past Stars to End 11-Year Playoff Series Drought · Apr. 30, 2026
Quinn Hughes scored twice and added an assist as Minnesota eliminated Dallas 5-2 in Game 6 at Grand Casino Arena, ending the Wild's first-round curse that had lasted 11 years and 10 tries. Hughes opened the scoring with a top-shelf wrister in the first, and after Dallas took a 2-1 lead, broke the tie in the third with a drive that deflected off a Stars defenseman's skate past Oettinger. Matt Boldy sealed it with two empty-net goals, and the Wild advance to face Presidents' Trophy winner Colorado in the second round.
