Nikolaj Ehlers scored 25 seconds in and again at 12:08 to give Carolina a fast 2-0 lead in their first Cup Final appearance in two decades, but Vegas answered with three straight to take the lead before the Hurricanes tied it twice more. Tomas Hertl ended it with 3:24 left, taking a Colton Sissons backhand feed past Frederik Andersen moments after Carter Hart's glove save on Seth Jarvis preserved the tie. Brayden McNabb had three assists as the Golden Knights stole home-ice despite being outshot 27-23.
