Gabriel Landeskog Wins 2026 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy · Jun. 9, 2026
After missing three full regular seasons due to four knee surgeries — including a cartilage transplant in 2023 that no NHL player had previously returned from — Landeskog completed his first full season back with Colorado in 2025-26, posting 35 points in 60 games and helping the Avalanche to the Presidents' Trophy. He was surprised with the award at home by his wife Melissa and their three children after watching video messages from teammates MacKinnon and Makar, his doctor, and his father. The first player in NHL history to win both the Masterton and the Messier in the same season.
