Jordan Staal Lifts the Stanley Cup · Jun. 14, 2026
As Hurricanes captain, Jordan Staal was first to hoist the Stanley Cup after Carolina's 3-0 Game 6 clincher over Vegas — his second championship and first 17 years after winning with Pittsburgh in 2009, an NHL record for the longest gap between titles. The Conn Smythe winner at 37 years and 277 days old, Staal passed the Cup to Frederik Andersen first, a fitting tribute to the goaltender who carried Carolina through the opening three rounds before Bussi took over in the Final.
