Film Room: How Bill Zonnon’s blend of power and vision could make him a unique NHLer

Big, detailed centres who out-work everyone are always in high demand at the NHL draft.
Bill Zonnon brings exactly that — and more.
A strong draft-year season played exclusively at centre led Zonnon’s stock to soar. He pivoted the top line for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, scoring 28 goals and adding 55 assists for 83 points in 64 games, before adding 16 points in 13 playoff games.
Zonnon was everywhere, all the time, for Rouyn-Noranda this season. When he wasn’t running a one-man forecheck, he was backchecking hard to disrupt transition plays. He played on the top power play, on the top penalty kill, and excelled in both facets. His motor carried him through his mechanical limitations, allowing his offensive creativity to shine off the takeaways he created with his non-stop effort.
