NCAA notebook: How much can Tynan Lawrence help BU?

There was a move this week that may shake up the NCAA season and June's NHL Draft.

Boston University announced that Tynan Lawrence, widely considered the top centre prospect available in the draft this year, would be joining its roster immediately from USHL Muskegon.

Lawrence missed a large portion of USHL Muskegon's season due to injury, but since returning to the lineup in late October, he's made the top junior league in the United States look like child's play, with 10 goals and seven assists in just 13 games.

While Lawrence was already scheduled to play his draft-year-plus-one at BU next season, this acceleration makes a lot of sense for all sides.

This was apparently a player-driven decision, because lighting up the USHL probably didn't help Lawrence in his attempts to move up NHL teams'
