NCAA weekender: The CHLers, led by Gavin McKenna, have arrived

Recapping the biggest stories of the NCAA weekend.

The first college season in decades to feature ex-CHL players has begun, and just a few days in, their impact is obvious.

There may have been some concern about how well a bunch of players ranging from 17 to 23 would fit in a league where players can be as old as 26 or 27, but their talent was obvious throughout the weekend.

For starters, future No. 1 pick Gavin McKenna, had a strong first two games for Penn State, posting a goal and two assists as his team split at Arizona State. 

His first game was such a big deal, in fact, that the NHL put the broadcast up on its YouTube channel and the NHL Network. We all saw the highlights. They were outrageous.

But McKenna certainly wasn't alone. Of the 195 goals scored across 29 games in the first weeken
