Who should win the 2025 Mike Richter award? And who will?

It's another year with a close race for the Mike Richter award.

But I have a question: Should it be?

The award, which is given annually to the best goalie in NCAA hockey, usually has three finalists, much like the Hobey Baker. This year, there are four.

In alphabetical order, they are: Trey Augustine of Michigan State, Albin Boija of Maine, Jacob Fowler of Boston College, and Alex Tracy of Minnesota State.

As a long-time Richter voter, I can lift the curtain on this a little bit if college hockey fans are curious. We got a list of 10 goalies — you might call them semifinalists — a few weeks ago that we were asked to whittle to our top three.
