MONTREAL, Quebec – It's not too often in life that the result lives up to the hype. But that was not the case on Saturday night in Montreal as Canada and Team USA blew the roof off of the Bell Centre.
It took all of two seconds for Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Hagel to shed the mitts and ignite the crowd with a spirited tilt. As it was winding down, Brady Tkachuk yelled over to Sam Bennett that they were going next. Bennett hopped off of the bench, lined up at the dot and one second later, they too threw down.
Then we had a solid six seconds of play before J.T. Miller threw off his gloves and waited for someone, anyone to join him. Colton Parayko obliged. And within nine seconds, the hockey world was set completely on fire.
I'd just like to point out, that I told y'all we would get some fisticuffs!
Hockey Twitter may have had it's finest run through out that first frame. The memes were unbelievable. The puns out of this world. The vibes: immaculate.
