I don't think we need to be romantic about this iteration of the Vancouver Canucks.

As the season winds down, and they've already been officially eliminated from the playoffs, there's a lot of talk about what's next. Probably a coaching change. Probably Brock Boeser leaving the club as a free agent. Definitely some big questions that need to be answered beyond just which personnel is or isn't coming back.

A lot of people really thought the Canucks would be some form of competitive this season but it didn't work out that way. The JT Miller situation was allowed to stretch out, far too long, to a logical endpoint specifically because the people running the team thought that winning would fix all ills, as it kinda did last season right up until it didn't.
