Where do the 2025 Washington Capitals go from here?

The Washington Capitals had an incredibly busy summer in 2024, and then turned in an unexpectedly strong season.

Now, there's not nearly as much for general manager Chris Patrick to do. After fixing a lot of the problems with the roster last year, he has just five total pending free agents to re-sign or replace this summer, specifically because he got so much done in the past year.

However, because of the quality of some of those players, the $8.6 million in cap space he has to work with might make it a little tough to retain everyone and run it back next season.
