The Swedish power forward quickly found his place in the NHL, scoring 29 goals and 30 assists his rookie year. Sandstrom went on to win World Championship gold in 1987 and a Stanley Cup with the Red Wings in 1997. He recorded at least 50 points in 10 seasons and retired from the NHL in 1999 with 394 goals and 463 assists.
