Player Biography and Trivia

Drafted 1977, 5 #43 overall by New England Whalers in the WHA Amateur Draft

Cult/Star player for VEU Feldkirch

Although drafted in the second round of the 1977 NHL Draft, Brian Hill never really made his breakthrough on the NHL level. After 19 games for the Hartford Whalers in 79/80, he left for Germany and joined Austrian VEU Feldkirch only one year later. Over the course of seven seasons in Austria, he scored impressive 416 points in 238 matches and was therefore naturalized in 1985. He appeared in 23 international games for Team Austria (12 goals, 4 assists) and participated in two WC B tournaments. Hill, who won the Austrian championship title three times, retired in the age of only 32 after two rather disappointing seasons with Lustenau and second league club ATSE Graz.
