Glenn Hart made his fortune in oil and gas business. He was the majority owner of the Houston Aeros, after his group was awarded an IHL franchise on January 13, 1994. He sold his majority stake to one of the minority owners, Chuck Watson, after the inaugural season. He remained as a minority owner.
Hart also a part of another ownership group, professional Sports Partners LLC, that was awarded an IHL franchise. It was set to play in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1998-99, as announced by the IHL on November 12, 1996. However, nothing came out of this franchise, nor from another IHL expansion franchise that was slated to play in the city in 1999-00.
Hart then focused on Laredo, Texas, and became the majority owner of a CHL expansion franchise, the Laredo Bucks. He remained as part of the ownership group that relocated the franchise to St. Charles, Missouri, in 2013. The franchise operated as the St. Charles Chill for only one season.
