Philip Anschutz

Philip Frederick Anschutz is a successful American entrepreneur with a wide range of business assets. His business model involves owning and operating the venues his teams play in.

Through one of his companies, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), Anschutz owns 50% of the Los Angeles Kings and its affiliate, the Ontario Reign. He and Edward Roski purchased the bankrupt Kings in 1995.

Anschutz has also held assets in the Reading Royals and the Manchester Monarchs, both former Kings affiliates. He has also invested in the Cincinnati Cyclones. In Europe, he has invested in Eisbären Berlin and Djurgårdens IF (12.5%). He has also had stakes in the Hamburg Freezers (formerly the München Barons), the London Knights, HC Sparta Praha (30%), Genève-Servette and Hammarby IF (44%). In addition, he has been influential in MLS as an owner of a number of franchises.
