John Lingo was part of Gator Play LLC, an ownership group that also included, David Buck, Jeff Delahoussaye, Dee Anne Dimmick, Collins Thibodeaux, Kevin Vincent and Scott Young.
Gator Play LLC acquired the Louisiana IceGators from Orlando Predators Entertainment, a publicly traded company that included Brett Bouchy, Jeff Bouchy, Eric Margenau and Sara Margenau as notable shareholders, on May 8, 2003.
ECHL took over the IceGators franchise on January 6, 2005, after the ownership group was unable to fund the team through the season. Unable to find a new ownership group, ECHL folded the franchise following the season.
