Monte Miron was a player, a coach and an ice hockey executive. He, his father Ray Miron and Horn Chen owned and operated the Central Hockey League (CHL) and its founding franchises. He was the Commissioner of the CHL from 1992 to 1997.

He and his father sold their stakes in the league and the franchises to Chen in June 19, 1997. He died in December 21, 2024.
