Enos Stanley 'Stan' Kroenke is a billionaire who made his fortune in real estate. He acquired an NHL franchise, the Colorado Avalanche from Ascent Entertainment Group, a COMSAT subsidiary, on July 6, 2000. His son, Josh Kroenke, was named the President of the Avalanche on May 10, 2013.

Kroenke also own many other sports franchises in North America, the Colorado Rapids (MLS), Colorado Mammoth (NLL), Denver Nuggets (NBA) and the Los Angeles Rams (NFL), through his sports and entertainment holding company, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE). The same company also owns Arsenal FC (Premier League) and Arsenal WFC (WSL) in the United Kingdom.
