Jean Bégin was a successful junior hockey coach in the 1980s, but his career came to a sudden halt. He was suspended by the Drummondville Voltigeurs after he was arrested in February 8, 1989. He was charged with seven counts of sexual assault, to which he pleaded guilty in April 1990. After serving his six month sentence in 1990, he committed suicide on November 20, 1991.
