Hannu Soro

Hannu Soro never played the game himself. Before acting as a team manager for Ilves and the Finnish U18 team, he was a equipment manager for KOOVEE (1971-1977) and the Finnish national team (1983-1992). Soro was also a referee for over a decade in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1980 he became the first Finn to referee a Swedish Elitserien (SHL) game. His contribution to Finnish hockey was formally recognized in 2012 when he was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame.
