Irvin Kaplan, a businessman who made his fortune in food processing, was a part owner of a WHA franchise, the Houston Aeros. Kaplan acquired the franchise from its original owner, Paul Deneau, during the 1973-74 season. He sold the franchise to a group led by George Bolin in 1975. He died on January 18, 1994.
