Lynn Nathan, formerly Bernstein, was a restaurateur. She became one of the owners of the South Carolina Stingrays, after buying it from the Stingrays Mgt. Inc., a group of Canadian investors, Marcel Dionne, Tony Maida and Frank Milne, on March 20, 1995.
Nathan also became the owner of a CHL franchise, the Fayetteville Force, after buying a majority stake (63%) in Cherokee Partners Inc. from Bill Coffey on July 13, 2000. Following the merger of the CHL and the WPHL, she folded the team. She attempted to buy the Birmingham Bulls, the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks and the Hampton Roads Admirals and to swap leagues with the Arkansas RiverBlades in order to move the Force to the ECHL, but all these bids failed.
