Tyler Kleven opened the scoring with a snap shot to make it 1–0, Sean Monahan then tied it for Columbus, but Tim Stützle restored Ottawa’s lead before the first period was over. Ridly Greig added a third for the Senators in the third period on an odd-man rush, and Brady Tkachuk capped the scoring with an empty-net goal to seal the victory.
