Playing in just his 18th NHL game since being recalled from the AHL, Dallas rookie Arttu Hyry capitalized on a broken play late in the second period — picking up a mishandled pass by Denver Barkey in the neutral zone and beating Samuel Ersson for his first career NHL goal to tie the game 1–1 shorthanded. It was the eighth shorthanded goal the Flyers have allowed this season.
With the Oilers trailing only three points behind Anaheim in the Pacific race, McDavid delivered when it mattered most — a goal and two assists in a 4–2 win over the Ducks to reclaim sole possession of first place in NHL scoring. His 124th point of the season (42G, 82A) moves him back ahead of Nikita Kucherov, who had seized the Art Ross lead just six days earlier with a four-point performance in a head-to-head matchup. McDavid is five points shy of tying Mario Lemieux for the second-most career points before age 30.
Trailing 0–2 midway through the second period, Dahlin stepped into a power-play opportunity and ripped one home to cut the deficit to 2–1 — his 100th career NHL goal. The Buffalo captain eventually helped force a comeback, with Peyton Krebs tying it late in the third and Tage Thompson and Jack Quinn converting in a shootout for a 3–2 win that kept the Sabres ahead of Tampa Bay in the Atlantic by two points.
With Montreal already leading 2–0 midway through the second period in Nashville, Caufield took a pass off the wall and ripped a wrister home to make it 3–0 — his 45th goal of the season. The Canadiens went on to win 4–1, and Caufield's tally extended his standing as one of the most prolific goal scorers in the league this season. At age 24, the Wisconsin native is on pace for a career-high in goals and is firmly in the Maurice Richard Trophy conversation.
Tippett notched the third hat trick of his NHL career — and his third career four-point night — driving Philadelphia to a 4–0 lead before Detroit's stunning late push. He scored first on a breakaway, added a second on a rush in the second period, then completed the hat trick with a power-play goal early in the third to chase John Gibson from net. Detroit scored three times in 2:31 to make it a one-goal game, but Sean Couturier's empty-netter sealed a 5–3 final. Tippett now has seven goals in his last nine games.
Just 25 seconds after Nic Dowd's shorthanded tally, Rasmus Andersson charged through the Capitals' defense and tucked a forehand around Logan Thompson's pad to make it 2–3 — two shorthanded goals on the same penalty kill. Andersson's goal came with a secondary assist from Jack Eichel, whose rebound set up the sequence that ultimately led to the next Vegas goal as well.
With Florida's lineup battered by injuries, Matthew Tkachuk carried the offense single-handedly in the first period at UBS Arena. His first goal came off a solo breakaway at 8:06, beating Ilya Sorokin with a slick backhand to the top shelf. His second, just under six minutes later, was even more audacious — charging through the slot after Mayfield and Palat collided to create a loose puck, Tkachuk flipped the puck through his own legs for a top-shelf finish to make it 2-0.
Adam Sykora capped a memorable night at Madison Square Garden by scoring his first NHL goal in just his second career game. Sykora became the sixth Rangers player to score his first career goal this season, beating Arvid Soderblom cleanly in the second period. It is the first time since Nov. 10, 1932 that three different Rangers each recorded such milestones — a first goal, a first point, and a first win — in the same game.
Drew Fortescue marked his NHL debut with a secondary assist in the third period, capping a remarkable night of firsts for the Rangers. Fortescue got the secondary assist for his first NHL point after feeding Taylor Raddysh, who dished to Brodzinski for the one-timer. "It was a pretty cool moment. I didn't even know that I got (the assist) at first because I looked away from the play and then they kind of all came over to me," Fortescue said.
Anton Frondell showed his playmaking ability in just his second NHL game, setting up Connor Bedard's milestone goal. Frondell made a backhand pass from below the goal line that went through the crease to a charging Bedard, who one-timed it past Ersson from the right side. Bedard became the third Blackhawks player age 20 or younger to record a 30-goal season, joining Jonathan Toews and Eric Daze.
Joel Eriksson Ek produced one of the most dramatic goals of the season, scoring with just 4.4 seconds left to give Minnesota a 3-2 win. Following a face-off in the left circle, Eriksson Ek deflected a Brock Faber point shot, then lifted in his own rebound from the slot while falling to the ice. It is the latest game-winning goal in Wild franchise history, breaking the previous record set by Marcus Foligno in 2021.
