Drafted 2000, 1 #21 overall by Ottawa 67's in the CHL Import Draft

Cult/Star player for Ambrì-Piotta

- Had to retire because of a defect heart valvular, which was diagnosed in medical test at the Toronto Maple Leafs-Camp were he attended, after getting drafted by the Leafs in the first round. He underwent heart-surgery in the summer of 2000 and missed the entire 2000-2001 season.
In 2007 doctors advice Luca Cereda to retire from professional sports, because his heart was not strong enough to handle the pressure.
