Mark Howe's 28 shorthanded goals are the most in NHL history by a defenseman. After winning 2 World Trophies in 6 years in the WHA, he made his NHL debut with the Whalers in 1980 and scored 80 points. Over 16 years in the NHL, Mark was a 3x runner up for the Norris Trophy, made 3 Stanley Cup Finals appearances, and played in 4 All-Star games. He retired in 1995 with 197 goals and 742 points in 929 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.
